RapidPick™ Software

Intelligent imaging, complete metadata, and precise control for high-accuracy colony picking

RapidPick Software provides a simple and intuitive user experience for precise, reproducible colony identification and picking

  • High-resolution imaging with full-plate capture for diverse colony and halo identification
  • Hover-over colony metadata display
  • Exports full-plate images with complete colony metadata for AI workflows
Automated imaging and analysis for unattended colony detection and selections
  • Flexible colony selection with both automated rule-based and manual modes

What it enables:

Why it's different:

Backlit plate image showing diverse colonies (orange) and halos (yellow dashed outlines), with hover-over metadata.
Top lighting with minimal obstruction; colonies filtered by roundness using elongation and conformity settings (orange = in range, blue = out of range).
Fluorescent green lighting with expanded metadata grid.

Colony Selection Parameters
DiameterWidest width of the colony
ElongationRatio of length to width (1.0 = circle; 3.0 = oval shape)
ConformitySmoothness of the colony’s edge (higher = more jagged allowed)
AmplitudeContrast value between the colony and background (higher = greater contrast)
SeparationMinimum spacing (mm) between colonies to be considered distinct. Includes one-click “Split Up Colonies” function
HueDominant color of the colony (0–360 degrees on the color wheel)
SaturationColor intensity or purity (0% = gray, 100% = pure color)
LightnessBrightness level (0% = black, 50% = true color, 100% = white)
Halo Parameters
ColorWhether the halo is lighter or darker than the colony
MatchingInclude or exclude colonies with/without halos
Halo DiameterEstimated halo width
ElongationRatio of halo length to width
ConformitySmoothness or circularity of the halo edge
AmplitudeContrast intensity of the halo relative to both colony and background
Overlay Customization
